Legendary former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett is bringing his 16-date Genesis Greats, Lamb Highlights and Solo Tour show to Portsmouth Guildhall on October 3 and G Live in Guildford on October 12.

Tickets are selling well for all the dates and the tour ends with a prestigious night at the Royal Albert Hall on October 23.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the release of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Steve is including a selection of highlights from this iconic Genesis album.

Steve said: “I’m excited that several shows have already sold out for my UK Genesis Greats, Lamb Highlights and Solo Tour.

“The whole band are on fire playing this thrilling set. It’s great to have Amanda Lehmann with us for the whole of this UK tour too, with John Hackett, Steve Rothery and Ray Wilson also joining for the Royal Albert Hall show. I am so much looking forward to this special celebratory tour.”

Fans are looking forward to the Lamb highlights, which will celebrate the half-century of this remarkable album, alongside some of Steve’s finest solo work, and unmissable Genesis greats, on this tour.

In recent years Steve and his outstanding touring line-up of Roger King on keyboards, Nad Sylvan on vocals, Jonas Reingold on bass and backing vocals, Rob Townsend on saxophone, flutes and additional keyboards, and Craig Blundell on drums have brought many of these albums back to the concert hall to great acclaim. Special guest Amanda Lehmann will be joining the whole of the UK tour on guitar and vocals.

Steve Hackett joined Genesis at the beginning of 1971 and gained an international reputation as the guitarist in the band’s classic line-up alongside Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins.

Steve’s intricate guitar work was a key element of the Genesis albums from Nursery Cryme in 1971 to Wind And Wuthering in 1977, including the iconic Selling England By The Pound.

After leaving Genesis at the end of 1977, Steve’s solo career, which now spans more than 30 albums, has demonstrated his extraordinary versatility with both electric and acoustic guitar.

Lockdown gave Steve the opportunity to write and record two new studio albums in 2021 - the UK classical chart hit Under A Mediterranean Sky and the hit rock album Surrender Of Silence.

Steve and his band enjoyed a return to touring with Genesis Revisited - Seconds Out + More! in 2021 and Genesis Revisited - Foxtrot At Fifty in 2022.

Subsequently the live album Genesis Revisited - Seconds Out + More!, released in 2022, became Steve’s most successful live album, reaching number 28 in the UK album chart and achieving highest-ever chart positions in several European countries.

He recently released a live album from the 2022 tour, called Foxtrot at Fifty + Hackett Highlights – Live in Brighton.

In January Steve released his current studio album, his first since 2021, called The Circus And The Nightwhale, which received critical acclaim and great reviews.

The fans in Europe loved the new material, some of which Steve performs in the first half of the show.

Steve recently announced reissues and remastered versions of his classical catalogue, available on black and limited edition coloured vinyl, and digipack and regular CD. Bay Of Kings and Momentum are available now, with more to come.
