You know it’s Christmas when Jonathan Jones settles down to tell one of the most famous seasonal stories of all time.
Farnham’s former town crier will be bringing A Christmas Carol to life on the stage of the Hale Village Hall next Thursday, December 19, at 7pm.
He will use different voices to conjure up such characters as Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchet and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, in a solo performance, much as Charles Dickens himself performed it in his public readings.
Dickens delivered 127 public readings of A Christmas Carol and this will be Jonathan's 104th since his first for Farnham U3A at the Maltings in 2009.
Tickets are £5 per person, or £15 for a family of four, available from the Hale Carnival website www.halecarnival.co.uk.
There will also be a bar with all proceeds from the evening going to next year’s Hale Carnival.
