Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith was disappointed with his side’s performance after they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Hanworth Villa in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

The hosts took the lead in the 18th minute when Sam Merson’s long throw in was flicked on by Rayan Djouadj and then headed in by George Wells.

The Baggies got back on level terms in first-half stoppage time when Kareem Akinnibi headed home.

Djouadj put Hanworth Villa back in front on 47 minutes, and Djouadj made it 3-1 to the hosts in the 84th minute.

Smith admitted he was disappointed with his side’s display.

“It was a poor performance,” said Smith.

“We had improved recently but that was back to some of our performances earlier in the season.

“We knew what Hanworth Villa are about, but we didn’t deal with it.

“They’re good at set pieces and are well organised – they have good quality and they know what they’re doing.”
