Badshot Lea slipped to a 4-3 defeat at Horndean in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

The Baggies took the lead in the seventh minute when Charlie George smashed home, but the Deans equalised three minutes later through Liam Callaghan’s goal.

Rudi Blankson put Horndean 2-1 up on 33 minutes, and Zack Willett’s 37th-minute goal gave the hosts a 3-1 lead at half-time.

Horatio Fowler’s scored the Deans’ fourth on 87 minutes, before Finlay Evans’ 94th-minute penalty made it 4-2.

David Garlinge pulled another goal back for the Baggies in the 97th minute.

Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith was unhappy with his side’s defending.

“We made some basic errors defensively and didn’t clear our lines when we should have,” said Smith.

“We had the advantage of playing down the hill in the second half and created plenty of chances, but we didn’t deserve to win because we conceded soft goals.”
