A gusty day with strong winds provided the challenging conditions for the final race of the Hansa National TT series at Frensham Pond.

Through the year, teams from a variety of Sailability clubs met at different venues in England, and these culminated in the event at Frensham.

A day of very close and competitive racing resulted in Frensham sailor Paul Phillips winning the liberty class and Frensham’s Mike Everitt winning the Hansa 303 one-person class. Because of the conditions all the results were very close.

When the results of all the races in the series were amalgamated the results for the Frensham Pond Sailability sailors were: Hansa 2.3 class: 1. Lindsay Burns, 2. Lara Sturgis, 3. Andrew Lebec; Hansa 303 one-person class: 3. James Woosnam; Liberty class: 1. Paul Phillips.

A combination of all these scores resulted in Frensham Pond Sailability being crowned national champions and winning the Ben Ainslie Trophy for a record 16th time.

A year of intense training and a group of very talented sailors have culminated in a very successful season for Frensham Pond Sailability.
