Aldershot & Farnham (A&F) Hockey Club’s ladies’ first team slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Folkestone Optimist in the South East Women’s Premier Division.

The game was end-to-end with attacks and goalscoring opportunities for both teams.

Keeper Taylor Goodrich and the A&F defence held firm with some good tackles and interceptions.

At the other end baseline drives down the right just failed to link up with the A&F players waiting in the D as the Folkestone keeper closed off the angles.

Despite the chances the score remained goalless at half-time.

The teams remained evenly matched in the second half, but the visitors took the lead in the last ten minutes from a penalty flick.

The Shots responded strongly to going a goal down, winning a short corner that went wide of the goal.

A&F pushed for an equaliser, but the visitors held on to claim the win.

Petersfield’s women’s first team won 7-3 at home to Basingstoke’s women’s fourth team in South Central Women’s Division Two South.

The home side nearly took the lead after two minutes when Anna O'Kelly’s shot hit the post.

Petersfield took the lead after five minutes through Georgie’s goal, before O’Kelly made it 2-0.

Basingstoke pulled a goal back after 28 minutes but Georgie scored two minutes later to give Petersfield a comfortable 4-1 lead at half-time.

O’Kelly scored Petersfield’s fifth goal when she fired home the rebound from Eva Keyes’ shot on target.

Easton then weaved past Basingstoke players and sent a bullet strike into the top left-hand corner to make it 6-1.

Basingstoke pulled two goals back, but Petersfield scored a seventh late on.

Petersfield’s women’s second team lost 6-1 at home to Chichester Centurions in South Central Women’s Division One Solent.

The home team took the lead when Preston’s cross into the D found Laura O’Sullivan, who applied the finish.

The visitors equalised before half-time and then ran away with the game in the second half.
