An architectural practice based in Farnham has picked up two prestigious awards for a grand design in Frensham.

Interest is building in BWP Architects following the firm’s double success at the UK Property Awards ceremony on October 25.

The Borelli Yard firm collected the Best Single Architecture Residence Surrey award for a complicated residential build on the edge of the Surrey Hills.

But the event got even better as the same project for the private contemporary home was named Best Single Architecture Residence UK at the showpiece event.

The competition involved some of the best property professional from across Europe so the firm’s director, Leigh Brooks MVO, was thrilled with double success.

He said: “We were delighted to win the Surrey award but then blown away to find out that we'd also won the overall UK award for the Best Single Architecture Residence.”

The winning design offers stunning views over the valley and echoes the rolling hills of Surrey with its double curved roof. It also challenged the construction team but they completed the work to an “outstanding quality”.

Mr Brooks added: "Projects like this are our speciality but it also takes clients with passion and faith in their architects to produce exceptional designs.

“Without the client and the whole project team, such projects wouldn't get off the drawing board."

There could even be more silverware on the cards, as BWP will now compete in the International Property Awards in addition to the Surrey Property Awards at G-Live in November.
