A housebuilder hopes a sponsored walk that ended in Farnham will encourage more men to speak up about depression.
Nearly 50 figures from Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties were accompanied by stakeholders, three dogs and five charity workers on the 17.5km walk from Guildford in aid of Andy’s Man Club.
The trek raised £3,700 for their charity of the year, which provides weekly free-to-attend support groups across the UK.
The volunteer-led charity supports more than 4,500 men every week by providing a community space where they can speak up.
Barratt David Wilson is a staunch supporter as suicide is the biggest killer of men under 54.
“Having already raised over £24,000 for Andy’s Man Club in the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge this year, the team at BDW are dedicated to doing all we can to support the charity’s incredible work for men’s mental health,” said Julian Hodder, managing director.
