Radian, the largest provider of social and affordable homes in East Hampshire, is moving from it current offices in Drum Court, off The Spain in Petersfield town centre, on Wednesday, March 27.
Unlike Drum Court, Radian’s new offices at Knighton Corner off Portsmouth Road in Horndean won’t be open to tenants as communication will be via a website or, from April 1, by appointment only.
A Radian spokesman said Drum Court staff weren’t being made redundant, adding: "The current office is significantly under-occupied and no longer creates the efficiencies needed. We are completing appraisals to identify those non-housing assets for sale, renewal, change of tenure, demolition or refurbishment, and we are reviewing options for Drum Court. Radian’s Knighton Corner will operate on an appointment-only basis."
Radian was formed in 2006 through a merger of six housing associations, including Drum Housing Association (DHA), and now manages 24,000 properties. DHA was the former East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) housing department in Penns Place and became a housing association in 1990 after Drum Court was built to house it.
EHDC was launched in 1971 and took over the council homes from Petersfield Urban District Council, formed in 1894 and based in the Town Hall since the 1930s.
