Waverley Borough Council has approved planning permission on a historical building in South Street.
The former South Street Social Club will be transformed into a high-end restaurant with a roof terrace. It follows the club’s closure in August last year due to a combination of post-Covid impacts and other factors.
At a Farnham Town Council meeting on July 18, Cllr George Murray commented: “I know that building is a Lutyens building designed by the world famous architect. For that to come back into the public realm is a really good thing.
“They worked with the town to bring that beautiful building in South Street back into the public realm. I think it'll be a great addition.” The restaurant will accommodate up to 250 covers. Springmark Ltd who is behind the new business, says a Michelin-trained Head Chef and Executive Chef are already on board.
