A Farnham-based artist is confident her latest exhibition of oil paintings will bring “joy and serenity” into people’s lives.
Gemma Colson isn’t keeping quiet about her ‘Hushed’ exhibition which opens next month at the Village Coworking event space in St George’s Yard.
The accomplished oil painter is holding a private preview of the collection from 6.30pm on Thursday, February 6.
She’s looking forward to getting a brush with the public and showing off a collection that offers a “breath of fresh perspective”.
Gemma said: “Each painting will appear differently to how another perceives it – but it will bring joy and serenity back into people’s lives.
“I think people aren't given enough opportunities just to stand still but having a piece of art that brings you the same sense of grounding reflects the tranquil essence of nature.”
Inspired by the macro close-up details in nature, the exhibition aims to bring a sense of calm and serenity and a much-needed pause amongst the noise of everyday life.
The pieces are predominantly large scale artworks in textured impasto oil paints.
They make perfect “stand-out pieces” for all interior spaces according to the artist. Tickets for the preview night must be booked through www.gemmacolson.co.uk
