Farnham is set for an explosive weekend with multiple bonfires and fireworks displays taking place in and around the town.

The first will take place this Friday (November 1) at Farnham Rugby Club with the popular event from 5.30pm also featuring a BBQ and drinks.

All eyes will then be on Farnham Round Table with a torch procession and display set to the light up the night sky on Saturday.

The procession will lead Waggon Yard at 6.15pm for Farnham Park with the Reading Pipers Band, town mayor and FRT chairman, Alex Donald, leading the way.

Revellers can also expect live music and entertainment with a DJ, Taiko drummers and fire dancers, and a food village setting up at the park to feed hungry residents.

There will be a fiery show of defiance in Heath End following an unsuccessful bid to scupper a pub’s 20th annual bonfire and fireworks display.

This year’s show at the Royal Oak will be the biggest yet with displays in aid of Children With Cancer UK taking place on consecutive Saturdays.

There has been outpouring of support for organisers as there was an attempt by two disgruntled “young lads” to light the bonfire before its completion.

Crondall’s annual bonfire and fireworks display will take place sometime after 5.30pm at Farm Lane on Saturday while an “amazing evening of fireworks, delicious food and great food” has been promised at Farnham Mill Nursing at the same time.

The Golden Fleece in Elstead will host its first ‘low bangs’ fireworks display from 5.30pm next Tuesday (November 5) with a quieter display being held with “little people and furry friends” in mind.
