Protection from the elements is just a bus stop away on The Borough as cries for gimme shelter are being answered by Farnham Town Council.
Plans to install a bus shelter outside Serina and The Queen’s Head on the thoroughfare were backed by town councillors when they met last Thursday evening.
A whopping 94 per cent of residents surveyed on the street and online by Cllr Chris Jackman were in favour of the plans.
Many residents felt there was little cover from wind and rain for people waiting for the buses.
Some businesses had concerns about the bus stop blocking the view of their shop frontages but the council would like to put the bus stops with the glass panel facing the road.
Farnham Town Council would also like to implement heritage bus shelters produced by Ace with a living roof to fit in with the town’s fancy for flora.
