Singing is good for the brain - and especially for people with dementia.

Homecare provider Right at Home GF has struck a chord for that reason as they’ve begun Singing for the Mind sessions at Farnham Maltings.

The sessions from 1.30-3pm every Monday are an opportunity to sing and to connect with other people living with dementia.

“These sessions are more than just a sing-along,” said Liz Young from Right at Home.

“They are a lively and light-hearted hour with experienced singing leader Barbara Rayner. As well as sharing memories, participants get to enjoy songs of all styles, from jazz and show-stoppers to gospel and folk.

“Singing for the Mind has the added bonus of being a therapeutic activity that can improve mental well-being and foster a sense of community among participants.”

Tickets, available on the day, cost £5 plus a £1.50 booking fee with accompanying carers going free.
