A Tilford painter who came runner-up in the Surrey Artist of the Year competition is putting her work – and a local charity – in the frame this Christmas.
Colette Moscati will get a brush with the public as she’s taking part in the Surrey Artists Christmas Open Studios initiative from November 30 to December 8.
Her Greyfriars Studio on Grange Road will be open from 11am to 3pm daily during the period with original and affordable artwork, prints and cards on display.
Gift studio vouchers will be available while visitors will also get the chance to give a Surrey good cause an early Christmas present.
That’s because Colette will donate a portion of the proceeds from card sales to Oakleaf Enterprise, a charity dedicated to supporting the mental health of adults in the Guildford area.
“Art enthusiasts are welcome to visit as I love an art natter,” said Colette, adding: “I hope to see those who voted for me in the competition, so I can say thank you, and others that may be interested in seeing a working artist’s studio space.”
Colette impressed judges with the “sense of place’ she imbued in her “Winter in Frensham” piece which earned her a top-three finish in the Surrey Artist competition in October.
The original was snapped-up on the night but a signed limited edition print of the artwork is available through the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham.
