The accolades keep coming for Tice’s Meadow as a documentary about the nature reserve near Badshot Lea has won an international award.

Our Meadow - a film based on the struggle and triumphs of the site and its army of volunteers - won the Environmental Film Award at the Festival International Nature Namur in Belgium.

It’s the second accolade for the beauty spot in a month as the Tice’s Meadows Bird Group confirmed last week they are the proud winners of a King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Farnham residents got the chance to see John Guyan’s film in late October as it premiered at the Maltings before going on a European tour.

The Festival International Nature Namur has become one of the five biggest European events of its kind after being set up in 1995 to showcase films on nature and wildlife.

It routinely attracts more than 35,000 spectators, photographers and filmmakers from around the world so Josh has been thrilled with Our Meadow’s success on the big stage.

He said: “A huge thank you to everyone at the festival for helping connect this film with audiences, who will now hopefully go home and think about doing something to protect nature on their front doorsteps as well.

“Congratulations to everyone else who participated in the festival - I wish I could have been there to watch the screenings!”

The full film will be released in the near future but a preview can be seen by following this link: https://tinyurl.com/4x87vunk
