An acclaimed artist has kept up a festive tradition by donating a framed print to the Farnham organisers of a Christmas appeal.
Susie Lidstone will be opening doors this December as her stunning wintry painting of Windsor Almshouses adorns the front of the Farnham Lions Advent 2024.
People who buy a £5 copy will have a chance to win a variety of treats with more than 70 prizes from children’s activities to festival tickets donated by local businesses.
One of those prizes is the framed print of the 2024 advent cover while another of her pieces is also up for grabs.
The watercolour artist – who has a “deep love of Farnham: and specialises in painting bird, animals, flowers, portraits and buildings – is no stranger to charity as she donates framed print every year to the Lions.
She said: “I am delighted to be associated with the Lions they do so much for the local community and for charity.
“My work brings me into contact with so many wonderful people who all have a love for the place we call Farnham.
“From my point of view that love stems right back to childhood walking around our wonderful historic town with my mother who was also an artist.”
Copies of the advent can be purchased at pop-up stalls and events in the Lion & Lamb Yard, Farnham Hospital and Maltings Christmas market.
The corresponding numbers in the advent will also be printed weekly in the Herald and at www.farnhamlionsadvent.org.uk
