Frensham Heights will be a bubble of fun when an acclaimed artist performs for one day only this autumn.
Ray Bubbles will bring his soap bubble extravaganza to Aldridge Theatre at the school. The show will take place on Sunday, October 27 from midday for an hour.
Ray has been making bubbles full time at these shows for the last three years, but he wasn’t always a bubbleologist.
“I used to be an accountant and a tax adviser many years ago,” he told The Herald.
“But it didn't suit my personality, even though I progressed quite well. I lived in France for ten years.
“Hence my company is called Paris Bubbles. That's where I fell into bubbles with my young children and it was just by accident.”
After trying to make his own bubble liquid, Ray went online and found various different recipes and began experimenting after he get the knack of them.
From there, he found a small bubble-making community and joined in to learn more and practice the art. Ray would then go out with his kids once a week to one of the local parks or in Paris to make bubbles for a few hours.
He improved in the art by training with a local man who had also just started and after scoring a gig in Germany it all took off.
Ray added: “Almost all our shows were sold out. I think we did seven days and three shows a day.”
In addition to his tour, Ray performs at SEND schools and for disability groups of all ages. He said that the bubbles are a way for them to not only have a good time but support them in a variety of ways.
