Fifty Farnham Rugby Club members will walk from Twickenham Stadium to Farnham’s clubhouse to raise funds for Movember.

The 50-strong group of walkers will leave Twickenham on Friday, November 29, and arrive in Farnham before the club’s first team host Tottonians on Saturday, November 30.

Farnham Rugby Club have raised more than £100,000 for Movember, which supports mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer research, since holding its first event in 2021.

This year the Farnham walkers will start from the players’ tunnel at Twickenham Stadium before heading down to the River Thames, past Hampton Court and on to Weybridge to pick up the Wey Navigation Canal, Basingstoke Canal and finally the Blackwater Canal before the final stretch into the club.

The 60km walk will represent the 60 lives lost to suicide every hour.

The route takes around 14 hours to complete and the walkers will arrive before the first team take on Tottonians.

In addition to the walk, Farnham Rugby Club players Robert Mitchell and Alex Chalker will run an 83km route around London in the shape of a giant Movember moustache.

The run will start at 7am on Friday, November 29, in Battersea.

Farnham Rugby Club are aiming to raise £40,000 for Movember this year.
