Nineteen creatives are coming together to share their artwork with a wider audience during the Surrey Artists Open Studios (SAOS).
SAOS will commence on Saturday, June 1 and will conclude on Sunday, June 23 and will showcase the studios that make up the North Farnham Art Trail. Most of the studios on the trail are close enough to walk between or you can pick out specific ones that appeal to you.
The trail will open from 11am to 5pm and will feature pottery and ceramics, tapestry weavings, paintings, prints, mosaics, lino prints and homewares.
Badshot Lea Village Hall will feature an exhibition called Kiln Photo, a display of images from ten members of their photographic community, covering a fascinating array of styles and interests. It will also house the collaborative exhibition in aid of local CIC Hive Helpers. The unique pieces are created by all the North Farnham Art Trail artists and are on sale for £25.
The Kiln studio is an undiscovered gem in the Farnham World Craft Town and the artists would love to have more people to come and see their work.
Farnham is England’s first World Craft Town and supports local artists to reach out for more affordable studio spaces and incubator units to help maintain the town’s crafters.
Farnham Town Council says: “Craft brings the community together. Farnham is full of makers of all ages and abilities and seeks to provide everyone with the opportunity to develop and express their creativity through making.”
