St Thomas-on-The Bourne Church in Farnham is holding a collection of men’s clothing for refugees and asylum-seekers on Saturday, November 16, from 10am to midday.

The clothes are needed by UK charity Refugee Support Europe, which has a base in Bournemouth, to help provide for the increasing number of young male refugees and asylum seekers around the Dorset town as the colder weather sets in.

Currently, jogging trousers, hoodies, sports clothes, t-shirts, winter coats and wet-weather gear are all especially welcomed along with (new) underwear and socks.

All items should be in sizes to fit teenage boys and small or medium-sized adults. The refugees, who often arrive with nothing but a few clothes, also need men’s hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant.

Further information is available from the Bourne Parish Office on 01252 715505 and details about Refugee Support Europe may be found at www.refugeesupporteu.com
