Sue Farrow, one of the founders of the Farnham Swimming Baths Trust, has retired after more than 30 years of service.

As secretary she was one of those instrumental in creating the Victoria Garden on the site of the open-air swimming pool off South Street which closed in the 1990s.

It was one of the first in the country to receive a Heritage Lottery grant and was opened by the Duchess of Gloucester on October 6, 1998.

This peaceful and much-loved haven, enjoyed by many visitors over the years, is maintained by volunteers. It is open every day during daylight hours.

Treasurer David Munro and Alison Gordon, chair of the Friends of the Victoria Garden, visited Sue on June 11 to thank her for her service and present her with a planter full of flowers.
