The Surrey New Writers Festival is back for another year at the University of Surrey.

It will run on Saturday, May 18 at the Rik Medlik building on the Stag Hill Campus, hosted by the School of Literature and Languages. It’s a day for writers, readers and students to celebrate contemporary writing.

Headlining this year’s event is novelist and screenwriter Megan Hunter who is best known for her novel The End We Start From which was adapted into a film of the same name last year.

There will be other key writers who will form panels to discuss myths, music and memory in fiction and reading and writing in the digital age and more.

Stagecoach buses run from the train station to the campus or it’s a 15 minute walk.

Tickets are free and are available til the day of the festival. Tickets can be found at https://tinyurl.com/Surrey-Writers-tickets
